My Thoughts:
"At this point I’m just fucking curious..." This was the phrase that opened the doors to an amazing movie. From this point forward the movie goes full blown fucking nuts! The acts of violence that take place mere moments after still today makes me smile.
The tension was built perfectly as it came to a devastating head. As soon as one thing happens that spells "Game Over" for our humble crusty protagonists, it gets far worse.
However, I will say that I can't give this movie a perfect score. As much as I want to, I can't. Too many things happen off screen. So much does happen on screen but 2 deaths are simply alluded too and not seen.
This could be because how brutal the movie was to begin with, however I've seen other films get away with it. A prime example would be a scene that incorporates the use of a box cutter in a new and utterly awesome way. This would also stand as an example of what IS seen on screen vs not. However, with how glued I was to the screen, I found myself disappointed not all scenes were as detailed and graphic as its siblings.
Summary:
Not only does this movie represent the true struggles of the underground punk scene, but it represents the utter landslide that is "Wrong Place, Wrong Time". I found myself cheering for the underdogs but also really wanted to see them struggle more. To elaborate on that, I just couldn't get enough. I didn't want the ride to end and I wanted another drop and loop to catch me off guard. However, the movie was over before I knew it and I wanted to see more.
I can praise this movie to all ears that will allow it, but I won't lie and say that I wanted more. Blue-Balled
